I'm really sorry to pull out at such short notice. Having spent the last two days in bed with a nasty bug I picked up on returning from Ireland, I'm not well enough to be helpful and wouldn't be doing myself any favours being outdoors in this state.

Very sorry, and hope I don't leave you too short.

Thomas is coming along tomorrow and can take over Michelle's marshalling position.

Thanks to Chris for organising. It all went very smoothly. I've never before felt so relaxed at any of the cross races the club organised. Thomas felt so relaxed marshalling that he kept falling asleep...

Michelle - I'm not surprised that you're ill after racing in Ireland. You must have got drenched. Did you by any chance get to know the De Ronde van Cork women? De Ronde are apparently the biggest club in Cork, but I've so far been too disorganised to join any of their club rides.

Yes well done Chris for some good organising and a great course. Although I think you broke a fair few riders today!

Massive, massive thanks to everyone who helped out today - it went incredibly smoothly. And many beers owed to Andy A for doing the prize giving!

For those guys helping out tomorrow - bring suncream! I look like a lobster. See you in the morning.

The most I got to know them was seeing their kit as they passed me... no idea what they're like as people (probably all lovely and hilarious if I'm going to generalise across my experience of the people in Ireland) but they seem decent enough riders - get yourself on your bike, Astrid and go and join them :D

Marshall Jun & his "Trident of encouragement" for helping to keep the racers motivated at the bottom of the Hoggenburg...

Thanks everyone for marshalling, cheering etc. today.
That was a tough course, especially as we had to do 1 more lap than riders in the Eastern League.
Considering the lack of training and excessive consumpt of good Irish food, my race went better than I could have hoped for, although I was glad when it was over. The flat bits were OK , but I did struggle up the hills. Definitely a good workout!

Huge thanks again to everyone who turned out to help. There were times today when it felt like we got away with murder.

Congrats to Astrid too on her prize, even though she'd gone by the time we did the podium. I suppose I'll have to meet up with Thomas one evening to hand it over

And no thanks at all to Dan who simply didn't bother his arse. You left us a man down when we really needed it. Not classy.

Great job today, guys. We were a bit short but everyone who came gave a little bit extra and it went brilliantly. Lots more broken riders but also lots of smiles and thanks from riders to LP for a job really well done. We rule 8)
