Anyone watch Jingle Cross last weekend? Wow, WVA is just miles ahead of everyone else at the moment.

First big European race of the season this Sunday in Gieten. MvdP and LvdH are back. LvdH still riding for Giant but will switch to the Sven managed Telenet Fidea on 1 Jan.

Good piece here on MvdP. http://velonews.competitor.com/2016/09/ ... ing_421719

Only saw the last lap shenanigans but surely WvA had the edge but for the dropped chain?

Agreed. I thought WVA was going to win. Either way, great race and cool that there's actually a RACE taking place. Wout absolutely killed the field in the US races and you really don't want that every week.

Ronse next week. Almost feel like sacking off racing myself to go across and watch.

Interesting. Matt Payne posted this on Facebook earlier...
Hi everyone,

I am really pleased to be able to tell you that I have been contracted to host the BIKE Channel UK’s coverage of live continental Cyclocross for the new season which will include both Women and Men’s races at the Superprestige & BPost Trofee Series and more. You can see all the action from the races on Bike Channel UK on Sky Channel 464, Virgin media Channel 552 & Freesat Channel 251.

Was that the first ever that live CX has been shown on an actual TV channel in the UK? Hats off to the Bike Channel for sticking their necks out and getting the licence. I hope it was worth it for them so it continues.

The Ronse course looked really bumpy. Never seen it looking so dry. It was a shame mechanicals messed up the WVA / MvdP battle. I sense MvdP "winded" himself when he snapped that crank. Oooof.

Not live but on an actual tv channel, one of the three we had then.
BBC One. 13 December 1980
A classic Grandstand line-up. Carpenter on the boxing, Eddie Waring on the Rugby League. Barry Davies drew the short straw and was sent to Sutton Park.

Introduced by Desmond Lynam
Football Focus - BOB WILSON
Racing from Ascot - PETER O'SULLEVAN
International Boxing from the Royal Albert Hall - HARRY CARPENTER
Cyclocross The Halfords International
BARRY DAVIES reports from Sutton Park, Birmingham, as competitors, who include World Amateur Champion FRITZ SALADIN of Switzerland and British Open Champion Chris WREGHITT, have to contend with fences, water hazards and cliff-like drops, all on a bike.
Rugby League - John Player Trophy - Commentator EDDIE WARING
Cross Country from Crystal Palace - Commentators RON PICKERING and STUART STOREY
4.40* Final Score
