But I would be up for riding it over a weekend in the summer with an overnight at a nice pub if anyone's up for that.
Yes, I may have a friend of mine interested also.

I'd be up for that as well, assuming we can work out the logistics. It'll be hard enough without having to carry all of our kit for a weekend.

It could just be part of the challenge to travel light. Train out to Winchester, night in pub, train home from Eastbourne. Carry shorts, t-shirt, toothbrush, ride in shoes you can actually wear to the pub. That sort of thing.

You need to ride it in proper shoes. It's not a ride in the park. Some descents quite technical for a CX bike. I can wear any of my cycling shoes in the pub. :P

Sorry, was that not obvious? - MTB/CX shoes, nothing with a smooth sole and a cleat. You in?

This is cool. 2 days out with nothing but a toothbrush, spare socks and base layer maybe and a travel size shower gel. Although I don't have any casual type mtb shoes hmmmm.

Depending on dates, could be interested in this too...the two-day (plus pub) option that is!

Well you'll be easy to spot in the nightclub then.

I've a history with Eastbourne night clubs being from down that way originally. Count me out, I'll be sipping a local beer in warm pub letting my socks dry out and saving my legs for the 'morrow.

Does anyone with any knowledge of the route have a suggestion as to where would be a good place to have an overnight stop? - I'm guessing you've got to head to the edge of the park, as most the places inside it are rather keenly priced. Somewhere like Arundel?

I would suggest Amberley (50 miles) or Washington (60 miles). Amberley is lovely and is at the half way point. But the 2nd half is quite a lot harder, so the 2nd day would be the tougher.
