To be fair, I was the one protesting at MK on Saturday. The guy I was trying to pass kept chopping me - fair enough on the 'normal' course, but I had words when the pole in question was a lamp post. Still, he briefly sat up 10m later (maybe to apologise) and a backmarker stacked in front of him and he went over the bars. Never saw him again. C'est la vie.

Just to confirm, I’ve let Rapha know that I’m not in a position to help them run Supercross this year. I haven’t enough time to devote to it and I’m planning to race the Central League that day.

However, I did say that I would ask our members if anyone wanted to help out on the day - marshal, mince around in a pink bib, etc. To be clear, it’s in no way an LP event and we’re not being pressured to support it. In fact I think they’re going to ask other local clubs to help too. But if you want to help out then let me know and I’ll pass details to Rapha’s Event Manager.

Having said that said, if you can only help at one event for the rest of this year, I’m sure your club colleagues would prefer you threw your hat not the ring for the Regional CX Champs at Hog Hill in December. That most definitely is an an LP event and, as stated elsewhere, we really need as many hands as we can muster.

Maybe. Will decide Friday. Or Sat morning. X-Night with file treads will surely be as good as anything

Similar to the video on the 2nd page, but 2014. Just to give you an idea of what it might be like.

File treads?

Haha! I wonder if anyone will actually turn up on a motorbike.

There weren't many riders in the Elites races in the first 2 rounds (under 25 finishers including the women). It's possible that some teams have been put off by the urban cross in the last round. It may be a spectacle, but at the moment it doesn't look as if the Supercross format is a sustainable way of promoting competition between the best cyclocross teams in the country.

Some grizzly traffic around Granary Sq at the moment, I wonder if those extensive roadworks and 3 way traffic controls will still be in place by the weekend

Come in from the other side - Handyside Street - if coming by bike. Can't imagine there'll be much car parking anyway.

Should be there with some kids racing in the morning.

Maybe the roadworks will form some of the obstacles on the course.

Rapha sources have told me no mud but course goes through fountains and there will be sand. File tread tyres were the recommendation which I am of course ignoring
