Bontrager Twentyfour/12 2015

Post by Steve Hanks » Fri Oct 24, 2014 6:09 pm

Entries open from today! http://www.xcracer.com/raceentry/viewev ... ent_id=741

As mentioned last year this is the fun-ist and most festival like of all the 24's, and it'd be great to see some more LP's there. Treat it as seriously - or not - as you like, or just come for camping, cheese and beer and a fun few laps. Great camping facilities very suitable for families also, as well as kids races on the Saturday morning.

Give it a go!

Second that! We always used to get a couple of teams and it's a great buzz and great course . See if we can get a team or if not you and me 24 pairs Steve :-) or a couple of 12 solos!

I'm already in for 24 solo Simon - with a plan to improve on this years 8th vet. I'm all for getting a team together though, happy to arrange / help.

Go for it! Get in there early! The solo champs inspired me a bit so can actually imagine doing a 24 solo now - no problem with 24 team or pairs and done couple of 12 solo but 24....hmmm it's not really appealed! but the ideas been nagging so was thinking Mayhem next year. See how it pans out maybe Bonty is better as it's later go on holiday afterwards!

After some discussion at last nights meeting we agreed we might try to get an LP team- or two down to the Bonty. If we can get enough people signed up it might be possible we might be able to get some help with transport etc.

I'll reiterate - this is the friendliest and most social of all events with good camping / glamping, live bands, cheese, bacon & beer, much like a mini bike orientated Glasto on 2 off-road wheels. I'd suggest we try for two teams, and if necessary consilodate into one with no pressure to perform if thats the case. Everyone only has to ride one 7.5k lap to place, so each member of the the "social" team need only ride as few laps as they prefer in the daytime or nightime or both. This is the team for those that'd like to have a go at MTB'ing, enjoy the weekend as an MTB weekend away with no pressure (and 'crossers :D  ). Teams can be 4 or 5 mixed. Its also possible the club could get some media exposure off the back of it.

I'll organise, so all you have to do is turn up and enjoy. http://www.twentyfour12.com/

I'll start a list. We need this done before May to get in, I'd love to encourage you to join in and have a go, it'll be lots of fun, I promise... 8) :D

Nice one Jack, the makings of a team are starting!

Bit early to confirm but I'll state my interest now
Yes, the Bonty is a victim of its own success really, in that it's become everyones end of season event before the winter series start so sells out early.

But, it's worth it even just for the free ice lolly ice cream van at the top of the climb on lap one, Stella drinking dj and disco half way around at 1am rather like riding through the middle of a mini night club and more pop up surprises. Never a dull moment!

Right, solos are almost full we need to get this team entered before they go too.

With Jack, Simon(?) and Jon that leaves 2 places on one team, or you can go as pairs.

So who else is coming? Remember there's no pressure to compete unless you want to, just ride...

12 is full, 24 reportedly very close to it, like -5 to 10 places left so I'm told.

I'd do team if it was competitive team - otherwise I've done 12 and 24 pairs before and could go for that maybe.

Jack/Jon are you prepared to Race rather than Ride?
