Might as well do the summer CX series instead. At the moment we’re potentially looking at anything up to 8 rounds of that (up from 4) and on a Thursday.

I'll look forward to those dates also
Like Jack, I'll only be able to manage a few entries as I focus on other events and my work schedule gets I the way, but I've a general requirement for mid-week intensity over the summer.

The annual Beastway (2019) thread...
As the UK balances on the precipice of a no deal Brexit my thoughts turn to the summer and what distractions can be found for those of us with a dispensation for riding on the brown rather than the black. Thus it is that I’m driven to draw your attention to the impending start of the Wednesday evening dirt dance of Beastway at the Redbridge Cycling Centre. Slightly amended from what Stan has posted earlier, after a series opener on Saturday the 27th April, then every Wednesday thereafter (until the 26th June) at 7.30pm you can come and partake in race that has roots stretching all the way back to the dawn of mountain biking…well, at least as far back as 1991 when I first raced at its pre-Olympic home of Temple Mills.
My first MTB race...>25 years ago???
For me racing Beastway is as much an experience of nostalgic bliss as it is one of concentrated suffering. I consider MTB racing a sort of off road time trial with a bit of bike handling thrown in…fortunately the risks are in your hands rather than the riders around you and the greatest danger you face are sharp bushes and bruised egos. The atmosphere is certainly more CX than Crit and all abilities, ages and genders are welcome.
Anyway, I hope if you have the time you will certainly come and join in for a round or two. I know some of you can’t make it in time the for Wednesday nights, so perhaps consider the Saturday season opener as little taster.
We may also need some volunteers to Marshall a round later in the year and usually the Beastway team are happy to offer a free race. I’ll post details when I have them.
In the meantime remember “Brexit means Brexit”.

Nice hat.
So this year there are a few changes. Michael has gone mad and bought machinery, Jarvis has let rip with his imagination and Bruce has got creative. There are quite a few new trails with some extra “features” with A and B lines. Hopefully the issues with the cracks in the ground are now solved. We’ve also less interestingly got some updates to the entry and timing system that will make things run a bit more smoothly.
Welcome the beast!!
