Thanks for letting us know, Paul. Have fun on the Lake District, I hope it doesn't rain too hard! (We'll be thinking of you in Herne Hill, where the sun always shines...)PaulWixon wrote:I'm really sorry that I can't help on this one Max. It'll be the first CX marshalling I've missed in ages. I think this will be the first ever LP cross that I'll miss, going right back to the Eastway days.
Good luck.

Remind me, Max. How many have we got? And what do we need? Are Brixton still helping?

Can I apologise again for being in Girona?
Tho I know feeling guilty while riding in the sunshine is not helpful and is in fact barely credible.

Re: London League - Volunteers needed September 16/17
Hi Steven, we need a minimum of 20 people. But this number does not allow people to race or take a break. Ideally, we would need 30. At the moment, we have 11, including Max and I. Yes, Brixton is still helping, although we haven't heard from them for a while. Their cx rep is in Ireland until tomorrow, so hopefully things will get sorted when he's back.

I can ask PBCCRT to help if thats politically correct to do so as I shall be stealth marshalling one of the SERRYL races for them, but at least one of them is invested in the race.
Let me know.

Thanks, Steve. I think we should just about manage if we scrap the BBQ. But I'll let you know in case the Brixton contingent falls apart. They have quite a few volunteers, I'm told, let's hope they don't drop out at the last minute.Steve Hanks wrote:I can ask PBCCRT to help if thats politically correct to do so as I shall be stealth marshalling one of the SERRYL races for them, but at least one of them is invested in the race.

Max/Caroline.
Are you still planning to sell cakes? I will get a train to the Herne Hill rather than cycling so I will bring either Brownies or flapjacks if I have time to make them or buy some Sainsbury's stuff if time is short.
Let me know if you want me to bring anything else (tea bags/milk etc)

Hi Alex,
If you could bring something cakey, that would be great. We will have to pull the plug on the BBQ, given the low number of volunteers, but we should be able to man a cake stall. We'll leave tea and coffee to the velodrome café.
Cheers, Max

Re: London League - Volunteers needed September 16/17
Comrades –
You will recall last year that any members who volunteered to help at a Club event were offered a ticket to a night out at the London Six Day. Goo news! The committee has agreed we’ll do this again this year.
So basically I’m giving you an advance heads-up on this in case it persuades one or two of you to come and help next weekend. It would be great if you can come along. It will make life much less stressful for Max and Caroline as well as everyone else helping out. Many hands, less work, etc.
Cheers,
Steven
